DROWSY continues to kick ass.

I caught DROWSY for the second time this past Sat. night. (Originally, I saw it back in July.) Just want to share that even after all this time, this company is plugging away and still keepin' it fresh and bright. Recommedn this to your friends.

Missed seeing Edward Hibbert (again) as "Underling", but everyone else was in. Oh - "Trix's" understudy, Stacia Fernandez, was on last night. Ugh! Didn't care for her at all. Dull as dishwater and her vocals grated on my nerves...not my personal cup of tea.

Foster, Leavel, Engel, The Kravits', Martin, Johnson...they all CONTINUE to electrify and delight...after all these months.

The house was full (but a bit too dead for my liking. You fellow theater folks know how it is, where u want to shout, this is funny and superb people...LAUGH. they are dancing their asses off - applaud. Dig and hole and bury the house, they're dead.) They seemed to come alive when the sublime Danny Burstein arrived and worked his magic. Danny, if u should read this, keep it up. You are utterly marvelous in the role.

Afterward, cast member Troy Johnson was in the lobby collecting for B'way. Cares. What a nice guy. And Beth Leavel was in the lobby. They had this hokey idea to have folks pose with her for pics ($20?), and the proceeds would also go to B.C. Sure enough, folks were dying to pose with her and throwing money. We spoke with her fast on the way out (we were passing right by her and the boyfriend and I love her work) and she seemd gracious, warm. She even joked with an older couple posing with her. I think it was their anniversary.

Anyway DROWSY team, keep up the groovy work.

It is also playing in the mid-to-high 90s, which is certainly wonderful news.

I just bought the recording semi-randomly. I am now completely in love with it. Of course, anything with a slide whistle in the overture will win my heart. I'm glad to hear good things about the show, especially since it's so very far away from me.

I'm thrilled to see Drowsy doing so well, especially being able to fill the Marquis week after week. To me it's such an enjoyable show and I haven't tired of the OBC recording yet.

Of course I have an ulterior motive for this show continuing to do well - I was sitting next to that clown of a crtic, Clive Barnes, when I first saw the show. Not a single smile, laugh or applause - I expected his dislike of the show so it warms my heart that it's doing so well!

Beth Leavel is such a kind human being. I saw the show the day before Easter and she was wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday and she was talking about recording the CD the next day. I loved the show, and her performance is so memorable.

I was wondering if they were selling the seasons greetings cards designed by Sutton Foster in the lobby after the show.
I'll be in town tomorrow and would like to get some.

I'm hoping they will still be selling them Thanksgiving weekend!

re: DROWSY continues to kick ass.

Wicked was selling them at Wicked Day for BC/EFA. I'm assuming they're the same ones. If that's the case, Drowsy will probably stop selling when they stop selling for BC/EFA which is Dec 3rd. However since Sutton created it & she's in the show, they could probably sell them after Dec 3rd until the holidays. But Thanksgiving is before Dec 3 so there shouldn't be a problem

That's a good review. Dopn't you just want to hug Beth Leavel and Bob Martin and Sutton Foster? I think they all deserve hugs.
