I was just wondering, because I'm interested in buying the songbook, but does anyone know whether the keys' of the songs were changed at all? Like for singing? Because I'd love to sing "Here I Am" for something, but on the cd and such.. just a tad too high. So yeah, any information on this would be great, thanks!
it's not the notes that are high, it's the way she sings them. She's insane. Try working with it to not belt the last part etc. Transposing a song from what's written is usually frowned upon.

Hmmm, it's kind of hard to figure out if the book changed the key because the book isn't even avaliable to buy yet...unless musicnotes and sheetmusicplus are out of the loop?
I'm not saying I CAN'T sing it high enough, i was just wondering if it conveniently fit my range or not
And I thought that the songbook was out already. If its not, then my bad!

Yeah, because Spamalot's book just came out.
Well, there's that and the fact that when I pre-ordered it said it was shipping late October.

It's already on sale @ Colony.
DRS V. SELS - $19.95 @ COLONY
Oh, sorry if i didn't make it more clear. The reason I bumped it now is because I know its finally out, and I still was wondering about the key changes. Can anyone tell me what key "Here I am" is in?
You can get every song in the DRS songbook off of musicnotes.com. And, if you need to, you can lower or higher the song.
If you thought Sherie was good with that last note then Laurie Marie Duncan was even more fierce!
Well the song is in the same key as the CD. I just got my sheet music that I ordered from Amazon. It is in the Key of B flat major. Hope that Helps.

Just to clarify and correct slightly...unlike opera, changing the key of a musical theatre song up or down a half-step or two is generally fine, as long as you find someone to transpose the sheet music for you. What IS frowned upon is not changing the sheet music and forcing the poor accompanists (such as myself!) to transpose on sight.
