Is this a hard lottery to win? I'm thinking of trying tomorrow. is the line usually very long for a matinee?

Posted: 6/13/06 at 3:35pmI did lotto for a Wed. matinee in April. My friend and I literally got there just after they finished calling the names, and asked the guy if he had any more. He just gave us a piece of paper and said go ahead in. So we won lotto after the lotto was drawn, and without having to show any ID. I think your chances should be pretty good.

Get there early, the show is pretty popular.
Buy a ticket if you don't win, you won't be sorry
re: DRS lotto#3
Posted: 6/13/06 at 4:46pmI say the chances of winning that lotto are a solid 75-80%. Plus if you dont win, you can get fantastic seats for $55 at TKS. Last time, I got Orchestra Row B, left side. Phenomenal!
re: DRS lotto#4
Posted: 6/13/06 at 4:52pmYeah I've won the lottery twice...it's fairly easy....but it's true...when I was there a few weeks ago for a Wednesday matinee, I went to the TKTS booth and scored front row seats.

Or if you wanna save a little more, you can get the rear mezz $41 tickets. But I'd say your chances should be great if you go to the matinee--last week I heard there weren't even people for seats--it may be a little harder if you go at night. Either way, enjoy!
I'm going Sunday for Rachel York's last.

Posted: 6/13/06 at 5:57pmTry sweet talking the guy. My mom sweet talked him and we were the first name drawn. He seemed really nice. I went on a Friday night and it was pretty packed. I was suprised, but if you don't get a lotto ticket, just buy a house seat. The lotto seats are partial view anyways.

Does the lotto guy sometimes announce rear mezz seats for a cheaper price?
I remember reading this somewhere, but can't remember the specifics....any help would be appreciated!
re: DRS lotto#9
Posted: 6/13/06 at 8:24pmI did a Tuesday evening. It was my first lotto in NYC and I won. There were not that many people there.

"Try sweet talking the guy. My mom sweet talked him and we were the first name drawn."
How can sweet talking increase your chances? The lotto is a random drawing of names. Did you fold it a certain way hoping that he'd pick it if you "sweet talked" him?

When I did it, it was COMPLETELY random. Though really, it always is (and should be...). When I saw they had 3 (or 4?) different color pads, I thought "Oh this is gonna be SO fixed! He's gonna pick his favorite color which could be yellow!" but when he picked it, he looked all the way to the side without seeing what color he was choosing. Fortunetly, I won

re: DRS lotto#20
Posted: 6/16/06 at 3:47amIt was just my luck that I had a ticket on the 14th night to see DRS and was very disappointed that Butz was out. I think he would have probably made the show funnier for me than it was. If I had known before getting there that he was out, I would have tried for a VIP ticket to Jersey Boys. As it was, DRS was the last show I got to see before ending my vacation in NYC (I had purchased most of my tickets in advance). And now I feel a hole because I should have see JB. Try and get a ticket now.

Posted: 6/16/06 at 11:59amthanks, i got really confused. Online it said box seats but when i did the lottery in February they were front row. Does anyone know when they changed it?
re: DRS lotto#24
Posted: 6/16/06 at 2:45pmQuick question: does Norbert tend to not be at many Wed. matinees?
