re: Dan Fogler 'Magic-Foots' his Final Spelling Bee on Broadway Jan. 29

How lucky for people who have tickets for Dan's final performance. I think it will be a very poignant event because William Barfee is his baby. Handing him over to someone else must make him feel very ambivalant. Yet, I'm sure that he is forever grateful for the opportunities that this role has afforded him and is excited about this next chapter. Dan has commented how much he honestly love everyone in the cast. That last performance should be a tearjerker. He may need extra hankies!!!
I love Dan and wish him every success as Barfee is launched into Hollywood.

Shouldn;t he stay a bit longer in the role he won a tony for?????? (he won right?)

Oh for God's sake --can we not be so literal....
It was my way of showing affection for a great character and wishing Dan well
I think his last performance is sold out. Is anyone going to try lottery or standing room? You must report back...

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

Maybe he'll get a sitcom deal, following in the steps of Kristin Chenoweth and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

I don't know why he would leave so early. Good luck.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Wanna Be, we have to remember that Jay, Dan and Sarah originated these characters in 2002 (I think) as part of Crepuscule, so Dan has been portraying Barfee on and off for all that time. That is a long and honored run. Maybe he will return at different points-but he has been cast in five movies. He already did 2 during short breaks and has three major roles upcoming.
I think he will return to the stage at some point because he has great respect for the theater.

Everyone should try to see Dan in final week of performances.
I would like to think that even as the original cast members leave that they will always have a home to return to as long as show runs. I don't ever think there will be anything as magical as the chemistry between these original nine cast members.

I'm seeing it on the 26th... how insanely lucky!

Wish I could've seen his last, but... wow, I'm looking forward to it doubly, now.

My mom and are gonna try to snag some tickets from TKTS tomorrow. We were deciding what show to see, and as soon as I found out he was leaving, we picked Spelling Bee. Haven't seen it yet, so I'm overall excited, but I'll feel extra honored to see it right before he leaves!

It's so great to see Dan moving on and I think it's so amazing to see how far he has taken this character and truly made it his own (sorry for the clich-yness).

Is Todd going into the role full time or will they cast someone new? Personally, I really hope its Todd.
