re: Danny Gurwin as Fiyero?

I thought he be good be as Boq because of his voice... he doesnt sound like a Fiyero, he sounds like a Boq.

*shakes head vehemently*

And ruin Wicked even more? PleaseGodno!

Yeah, Danny, while rather good-looking, was the only thing I disliked about Little Women (don't start listing other things...I may have to threaten to hurt someone. re: Danny Gurwin as Fiyero?). If it was him, Sho, and that horrid little man who plays Boq all in one cast, I may have to shoot myself.

The Wicked musical is basically a completely different story from the Wicked novel. It is a musical with some of the same characters of the book. No Liir, no Nor, none of Fiyero's family that Elphaba stays with is in it. Completely different. I happen to like them both. The musical is much more about the characters and their relationships, the book is more about Elphaba and her story. Glinda's role in the book is MUCH smaller than in the musical. There are none of the nanny characters (the name escapes me). Both good stories, just completely different. If anyone would like to discuss musical/novel and differences further, pm me.

And sorry for the threadjacking. No, I don't see Danny Gurwin as Fiyero.

As long as he wears those damn diamonds, fine with me.

Why even have him as a winkie prince w/o his tribal war paint?

He'd look great in those tight pants.

You'll be sadly disappointed if you expecting the novel on stage. It has similiarities, but it is only based on the novel, not a literal interpretation.

Elphaba still goes to Oz to fight for animal rights. Dr. Dillamond doesn't die ("There's a goat on the lam, sir"), but he is removed from his position at the University and the Wizard is holding him in his lair, or whatever...lol.

Doesn't mean its not worth seeing. Be your own judge.

re: Danny Gurwin as Fiyero?

I have almost taken to thinking about them as separate stories.
If you compare the musical to the book while you are watching it, you will be really disappointed. I was suprised with how much of the novel was left out.
I love the book. I'm reading it again at the moment.

But, I love the music from the show--and I like the show well enough. However, I wont be paying $100 again ANYtime soon. I choose to appreciate it for its catchy music and not accuracy to the novel. It's just a shame there wasnt a better conversion to the stage!
