Posted: 11/6/06 at 5:13amI hope this info is untrue, When Alice played Fantine last I felt her terribly miscast. Yes, she's beautiful, she can sing, yes , she can act, and crank out the tears, but her Fantine was phisically wrong,WAY too strong and vital, and frankly cold and Icy...and not in the "now life has killed the dream I dreamed, sort of way.

She is working on gigs with her band and hopefully spreading the word about the upcoming one in march. I think she is still on her hiatus from theatre, but if she did take this on, I would be utterly pleased!

Posted: 11/6/06 at 7:51amLike I have said before, if Daphne is being replaced before February she does not know it yet as I have spoken to her online and in person several times. That said, I'm sure they are looking for someone to take over for her in February and depending on what kind of reviews she gets they may look to have that person replace her permanently. *shrugs*

To be honest, I wasn't even sure if it was okay to post something like this. lol
While I'm all for free speech and speculation, I'm going to have to say the following: not only is it not "ok" to start a rumor like this (and it is, for all intents and purposes,a RUMOR at this point), but if it is in fact, true, do you think it's the "right thing" to do, posting it here becasue someone told you this info? I'm no big fan of Daphne's but this seems rather insensitive and unecessary. What kind of a "service" do you think you're providing? And I'm not being snarky, I'm genuinely curious as to the point of doing this.

What kind of a "service" do you think you're providing?
I assumed, this being a Broadway board, that users on here would be interested in such a development. Although you may feel that it is "not 'ok' to start a rumor like this," I thought that one of the purposes of the board was to discuss such rumors and weigh in on them. It wasn't intended to be a stab at Ms. Rubin-Vega's performance, which I have not had the opportunity to see yet. I am actually an admirer of Daphne's work. I was merely relaying a piece of information I received.

Anyway, DRV should never have been cast in Les Miz, and the only justification for it is to try and get the Rentheads into the theatre. Hopefully they learn how a proper theatre audience behaves while they are there.

Should those in the know have posted about Manuel being let go from Times a week before even she knew? No, that would have been absolutely wrong. Nuff' said.

Posted: 11/6/06 at 12:08pmThis happened on another post when someone talked about what one of their friends told them. Untill it is offically announced we cannot belive anything. I feel like they will not replace her. From the open rehersal video everyone cast and crew seemed very content with her.
