Hi All:
I plan on taking my mom to see "Hello Dolly" on Wednesday July 5th at 2pm. The main reason she wants to go is for David Hyde Pierce. Does anyone know if he has a planned absence (I checked every website I could find and found nothing)? I fully understand he can be out for a personal day or be sick, but just wanted to see if any of my friends on here know, before I buy.
Thank you so much in advance!
Other than Midler, Rudin has the cast on a very tight social media leash and doesn't allow them to discuss or post about the show. This edict includes cast members announcing vacations and understudies promoting their appearances.
Buy at your own risk but keep in mind he was one of the first to start missing performances. Yes, he was sick but nonetheless, he started missing performances shortly after previews began. Bette has perfect attendance - has yet to miss a performance.

David has missed 5 performances so far, all due to mild illness at the time. He did not miss any shows in previews, but almost a month after opening. David is a total professional and rarely misses a show unless it's completely necessary. I missed him on May 5th so I'm going back on December 14th to see him and Bette together. Really hope he is in! It wouldn't hurt to ask him though if someone sees him at the stage door regarding any upcoming vacations.
I'm hoping he's in also for the July 5 matinee. Going with a group of six, three of who whom missed him when he was out previously. His performance has really taken off from early previews, making him a joy to watch as Horace.
