I was very excited to hear that one of my favorite musicals- Zorba was being revived for next season. It is a moving, wonderful, tuneful night of theatre when its done right.

Antonio Banderas- nice.. no great casting.
Don't know who Madame Hortense is but I nominate Chita Rivera!

But David Leveaux as director?

Isn't he the man who singlehandedly destroyed the indestructible Fiddler on the Roof in its last Broadway Revival?

Didn't he... in is infinite wisdom make it almost Brechtian by putting the musicians on stage under the trees so that we couldn't forget we were watching a musical taking all of the charm and poignancy out of the piece?

Please Fran and Barry--- I am begging you.. Please get another director.
Heck... I'd even invest.
