Daytime Emmys

What's going on with this? Who is doing what as far as the promised, "Broadway Satrs?"
#2

re: Daytime Emmys

Kathy Brier, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Kerry Butler from OLTL are singing.
#3

re: Daytime Emmys

Renee Elise Goldsberry will be singing a song from the score of The Color Purple. I can't wait!

re: Daytime Emmys

a Daytime Emmy...that is what this thread is about.

I went to the Emmys the past 2 years, uber pissed that its in LA this year, I would have so gone down and red carpeted. I wanna see Rick Springfield. alas my only option this year is to watch it all unfold on television.
hmm...

re: Daytime Emmys

I have heard Kathy and Renee sing on OLTL, both were good. I was especailly impressed with Renee, I wish I could have seen her in "The Lion King." Kerry, I haven't heard before, so I am interested in hearing her since she is a former Eponine. Has anyone seen any of these women in a Broadway show? I am rooting for Renee to win the Emmy, she is a great actress.

http://www.kerrybutler.net <-- go to recordings and you can listen to her sing a bunch of things...

re: Daytime Emmys

Best Supporting Actress (for One Life to Live). I like her but I don't think she'll win. Call me crazy.

Kathy will be singing "Good Morning Baltimore" and Kerry "Suddenly Seymour" as per TV Guide. Also, Rick Sprinfield will be opening the show!

re: Daytime Emmys

I'm gonna need to get the TiVo ready; I have a performance but don't wanna miss Goldberry; she's wonderful on The Color Purple recording. Best of luck to her on her nom!

Cheers,

Christopher

re: Daytime Emmys

They should have devoted more time to them... I watched a three hour show just to see that...
But they all did well! Especially Renee... I had never heard her before.
And as much as a Kerry fan I am, I was jumping around the room when I found out she was singing and I was trying to recover from getting my wisdom teeth out so not the best idea, I think that Renee really outshone the other two.

re: Daytime Emmys

I thought Brier was sperb, Goldsberry a bit forced, and Butler, well, for me, the less said about that performance the better.

re: Daytime Emmys

I love watching the clips of nominated actresses on these. Every one of them is in tears, only only is on the verge of them

re: Daytime Emmys

Overall, I loved their singing performances! It was fun to watch on television. What voices!

re: Daytime Emmys

I couldn't watch this. All of the screaming from the so-called fans ruined it for me. Why are they allowed to scream and yell in the theatre when the names of the nominees are read?

re: Daytime Emmys

Kathy by far sounded the best. (I love all three but kathy was amazing)
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

re: Daytime Emmys

All three sounded great, but why was the accompaniment SYNTHETIC and FAST?! That was so stupid.

That did not benefit their performance, it should've been LIVE with all those strings and brass and stuff like that. This is supposed to be the Emmy AWARDS! World-class entertainment! in Los Angeles, dangit!

But overall, Kerry, Kathy, and Renee ALL sounded GREAT! They also looked beautiful! Just stunning!

re: Daytime Emmys

I had to record it, and I watched it last night. I thought they all did great. It made me more interested in hearing Kerry's "On My Own" and Renee's "Shadowland." It is too bad that Renee didn't win a award.

re: Daytime Emmys

What show were you guys watching?
The Color Purple was the only thing that sounded good.
I could have slapped that Hairspray chick and Suddenly Seymour Oy!

re: Daytime Emmys

I was so happy to see Kerry singing Suddenly Seymour again! All 3 girls were fantastic, but Kerry's my girl so I gotta give her props. She looked very hollywood glamour! hehe

re: Daytime Emmys

Kathy Brier...that girl can sing. Her voice is so rich and beautiful, and I loved the little giggle. Get her back on Broadway where she belongs.

re: Daytime Emmys

I thought they were great...all 3 of them. Cheesy ass synthasized music yes, but they all sounded wonderful.

And off topic: let's give a shout out to GUIDING LIGHT for taking all of those acting Trophy's home on Friday night. One of the best casts in daytime, and they deserved every trophy they recieved. Gina Tognoni, Tom Pelphry, Kim Zimmer, & Jordan Clarke. Bravo! Not to mention the great Jennifer Landon from ATWT!

Good evening of TV presented by ABC!
