Two video captions to the right of this board state the following:

"Watch Glenn Close and the Cast of SUNSET BOULEVARD Tribute Vintage Hollywood at Birdland!"

"A Musical Memorial Day - Broadway Tributes the Troops"

I am not afraid to be the grammar police. "Tribute" isn't a verb.

I'm afraid that in the quoted sentences it is a verb. Isn't that fascinating? Language is malleable and dynamic and dictionaries are lagging, not leading indicators. The success of language use is judged on how well the meaning transfers from writer to reader. Where would show business jargon be if it was forced to color inside the lines?
