Going straight to replacing an Asian lead with awhite guy drew too much attention, so they're going with another, non-Asian min...

How do Broadway actors leave the theatre when they skip the Stagedoor?

I mean no disrespect to OP (who seems to have been here way longer than I have), but I hope no one who knows answers this question. Not because I think OP is asking with any boundary-pushing purposes (I don't), but just in case anyone stumbles across this thread, and decides to use any information provided to push beyond the appropriate boundaries after shows.I hope this doesn't come off as rude, I just think extra care needs to be paid to this topic!

This refrain is so played out, and so annoying. Literally everyone is impacted by Trump, and the things he does. He's the President. Anyone can have an opinion (and speak it), because everyone is affected.

Because everything has to be about politics. So bizarre.

Let me preface this by saying that John Proctor Is the Villain is personally my favorite play of all-time. Both times I saw it on Broadway were out-of-body experiences, that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I would love nothing more for it to continue to run on Broadway. As others have said, economically speaking, it could not be ending its run at a more viable time. End it as people go back to school, so that those who are headed back can end their summer on a high, and tell all their...

I would also point out that, as someone who has done the stage door quite a bit (not as much since the pandemic, though), the vast majority of people at the stage door are respectful, and enjoy a mutually gracious exchange with the actors. It's the ones who aren't respectful, and who view it as an expectation (along with insane people like this dude), who ruin the experience for everyone else, including the actors. And who will eventually, I still think, cause stage dooring to become a thing o...

Furthermore, could we possibly be witnessing the downfall of Sutton Ross? Probably wishful thinking, but the way she often speaks to other posters on here, and seemingly faces no reprimand from mods, is reprehensible. Definitely is giving teacher's favorite/star theatre kid beyond reproach.ETA: The amount of likes her posts have gotten in here vs. the amount of likes those scoffing at her have gotten would seem to strongly indicate that the masses in here have had it with her schtick.

Sorry to see the derailment of this thread, quizking101. There was nothing wrong with your OP, and good on you for spotlighting this, so it isn't normalized.I'm so sorry some people on these boards enjoy the smells of their own farts so much, that they can't see that.

While Book of Mormon isn't gonna be one of those shows that runs forever like Wicked or Lion King, or for multiple decades like Phantom or Chicago, I still think it has at least another 2-3 years in it. It's certainly not going anywhere this season.

Why are audiences so poorly behaved these days?

Jun 23, 2025 — 9:17:21 AM

Are people really still trying to cite Covid as the reason for this?At this point, it's been years since Broadway reopened from the Covid shutdown, and the poor audience behavior had been an epidemic for years before Covid.I think at least one of the issues is that people literally live behind their phone screens more and more every year, to the point that it has completely warped their concept of how to behave in real-life, with actual humans. And I can imagine that this will only get worse,...
