Dear Evan Hansen Burning Questions

Can anybody tell me if they plan on filming dear Evan Hansen for preservation and hopefully eventual release with the outstanding original cast before they start leaving as they did with Hamilton. Is there usually a professional version shot for the actors fund or for a library in NYC early on in the run?

As we all know the uber talented Ben Platt is leaving November 19. Any word on if the rest of the cast is leaving this year as well?

Recently found some unique items at the bcefa flea market this year. One was a large white towel with the printing dear Evan Hansen and large lettering step into the sun.(very creative for a beach towel I must say ). I have never heard of this item nor seen it listed anywhere. Any insights if this was a promotional item or was ever sold at the theater or through a website. I also found a torso shaped Evan Hansen pillow that said opening night second stage on it. What is this item a gift to the cast that night?

I am curious to know that when understudies for a show like dear Evan Hansen are hired do they show up every night to the theater and just stay behind the scenes for the entire show if the regular cast is all on that night. Are they paid the same whether or not they perform? Thanks in advance for your responses...

They already shot a version for the archives during the recent Actors Fund benefit, which Ben tweeted about. It is not a version for release, though. You have to have a reason to watch it for research purposes (discussed elsewhere in detail) and you can only see it once.

Your question about understudies is the same for every show. Yes, they show up every night, and they (usually) stay. Someone might get sick or hurt during the show and they would step in.

Their base salary is negotiable just like every other actor's. (but they must meet minimum requirements) I believe they do get a small bump in salary every time they do go on/per performance. (but I think I heard this quite a few years ago, so cannot say if its still true, if I'm even remembering correctly.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

That beach towel is part of the merchandise for the show, it is sold in the theater at every performance.

This article from five days ago states that the rest of the original cast is staying with the show at through the spring: http://www.playbill.com/article/dear-evan-hansens-ben-platt-gets-groovy-with-incoming-stars-taylor-trensch-and-noah-galvin
