A dear friend surprised me (and my mom) with excellent seats to DEH the Saturday of Tony weekend. We'll be in center orchestra. Of course since then my two daughters have become obsessed with the show. They're early teens and the music has been playing non stop. I really want to take them with me. Of course all tickets for that performance are sold out. I did stub hub for two seats for them and got Row A Right Side Mezz 24-26. I know they're listed partial view but I thought partial view in mezz may be better than partial view in orchestra close up since one of them is pretty short? I needed to get tickets in advance because we are flying up from SC. Any experience with these extreme side mezz seats in the Music Box? Thank you!
I've not done Mezz partial view, but I scored a partial view ticket last night on the aisle of the 4th row in the Orchestra. All I missed was the band, but I think any rows in front of me partial view would have missed significantly more.
Your daughters will be fine. The box in front of them is where the sound technician sits. I sat in row C extreme right mezz (last seat of the row) and was able to see 95% of the show.
The only part I missed was when Connor Murphy sings (in Evan's head). The best parts of the show, which is when Evan Hansen, confesses, won't be blocked. Evan confesses to the Murphys at house left so people who sit in extreme house left will be seeing Evan's back and not his facial expressions.
I sat orchestra center in the front row, and although those seats aren't listed as partial view, they should be, since the stage is so high and the seats are so close to it. Even with a partial view in the mezzanine, they will love the show. Most of the action takes place center stage, and, honestly, this show is such a sensation that just being in the room will make them not care about the moments here and there that they can't see. Have a great time!
