I know this is probably in vain, but every day it seems like more and more posts are started with a question or comment that could have been added to an existing thread and still been on topic.
For example: three threads on the main page today all related to ticket sales/questions for DEAR EVAN HANSEN.
At minimum, might the moderators add a line that appears on the Post Message page when you click Start a New Thread? Something along the lines of:
"Before starting a new thread, please search to see if an existing thread is an appropriate place for your comment or question?"
A truly better user experience would require a significant refresh/rethinking of the discussion board design, one that might operate in more of an outline format with all individuals threads related to a show like DEAR EVAN HANSEN found under a show title heading .... just as one example:
DEAR EVAN HANSEN
-Official Preview Thread
-Seating questions
-Reviews
-Any merchandise yet?
-Do they stage door?
-Changes from DC and Off-Broadway
-When will it close?
You get the idea.
But since I'm guessing that is unlikely to occur, any minor, yet easily doable, improvements would be most welcome by at least this frequent board visitor.
A nifty idea would be to be able to select from a drop-down of shows so that searching by the show is easier, and would also standardize how the show is listed. (Sometimes people shorten or acronym to the point where we can't figure out the show they're talking about!)
