We popped into the Apollo this afternoon and got some great seats for Debs, Thursday May 6th, Row C in the stalls.

I wonder if she'll do the same as at her Las Vegas show and shake everyone's hand as they leave the theatre!

I also saw Carrie Fisher in Wishful Drinking in Berkeley, California this summer. Very funny show, well worth seeing. Now I just want to see Debbie and daughter on stage together.

re: Debbie Reynolds - Alive & Fabulous (12 Performances only)

Should I see this?

She's at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on 9th April. My parents would have jumped at the opportunity but I'm not so sure. She's a Hollywood legend from the 50s and her early films are classic Hollywood musicals. So in theory this is an opportunity not to be missed.

But they're not films that mean a lot to me. And if she's just stood in front of a screen commenting on them I'm not sure I'll be interested. She apparently "dishes the dirt on her many husbands" but her personal life doesn't really interest me.

On the other hand, if she sings and dances and puts on a great show, I'll love it.

Has anyone seen her elsewhere?

I love her in the old musical movies. she has a great voice. And I do LOVE her as Grace's mother in Will & Grace! I will LOVE to see her concert but I wont jump to get tickets. I'll see if I have cash to get tickets sooner the time ~

She doesn't do much dancing these days as she fell into the pit during a performance about 4 years ago and broke her foot. Yes she sings and comments on scenes from her movies which are screened behind her. Oh, and if you are keen she shakes a lot of hands from the front of the stage at the end of the show. I saw her about two years ago and it was money well spent.

I saw her in San Diego about 5 years and from what i see from this it is not the smae show. In that show she had 4 dancers, 3 singers and 5 in a band. She did reminise old stories from every era of her career but it really was a song and dance night.
Im sure its the show she had performed in her (failed) Las Vegas casino and, as Alterego mentioned her unfortunate accident, didn't reopen.
I'm in two minds about this one.

Just spent a fabulous two hours at The Bridgewater Hall watching Debbie. It's a great show, the woman is hysterical. I spent most of the time crying with laughter. She spends the evening singing, dancing a little, doing fab impressions of various Hollywood stars from Bette Davis to James Stewart, and talking about her life and career.

Brilliant show, i'd recommend it to anyone.

Three gay people? hah, i see you're having a little joke. I work at the hall and the only show i've seen more gay people at was Joan Collins, lol.

I agree regarding the woman with the donald o'connor question, 'what a stupid bitch'.

my favourite bit was the gobsmacking impersonation of another certain diva though. I don't wanna name names though so the 'suprise' isn't spoiled for others who may watch the show elsewhere.

i need to change that picture of 'milkshake'.

re: Debbie Reynolds - Alive & Fabulous (12 Performances only)

Saw her on Wednesday in Norwich...well at least till the interval.
She was amusing, vaguely decent impersonations (of a Mike Yarwood style), sang OK with a drummer and piano player and lots of backing tapes (just don't do it, ever), sang along to (the best bit) movie clips and if she hadn't been such a great dancer/movie star would have been nowhere near a stage today.
If you go, don't have high expectations.

We were middle row.19 seats either side..there was more than enough huffing from all the old dears when we went in..god knows what it would have been like if we'd (gratefully) left before the interval!

Can't believe anybody would willingly leave at the interval, i thought it was a fab show. Only time there was obvious singing to recorded backing was when she sang along with movie clips, and that was such a small part of the show.
