Do you think Deborah 'belts' during really good s@x?
Okay - this subject is totally inappropriate...but funny nonetheless.
Any other topic suggestions?

All of her re mixes get released eventually. "Absolutley Not" took forever to be released. But one was able to find it in dance compilations. Honey; that Hussy is goin gto milk the Aida thing as well she should .

Posted: 5/1/04 at 6:02pmDo you think she will remix "Elaborage Lives" next?
#206re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Rock the Mic

I hope not, but if her remixes of "Easy as Life" are a success, remixing another song, like "Elaborate Lives," is a definite possibility.
I wonder who'd sing Radames' part.... would Will Chase do it, or another pop star?

Do I see another AIDA cd being released of all remixes???
For as "Elaborage Lives," Deborah can do it herself without Will Chase.

Posted: 5/1/04 at 8:12pmI think a cd should come out with other songs from current shows remixed. How about a techno defying gravity? Wouldn't that go well in the clubs?

UDJAT, do you really think they'd release a whole new CD? There is an old version with the songs sung by pop artists, but I hear it's horrendous. They aren't remixes or anything, it was a concept album.
Deborah could sing EL by herself, but the song is better with Radames in there too. But that's just going back to my "Broadway music doesn't belong in dance clubs" campaign, which I'm not discussing again, on another thread. It's old already.
Nice icon, by the way.

Posted: 5/1/04 at 9:59pmHmmm. What a sad statement. Broadway music belongs everywhere. Sure there have neen some horrible mishaps ( ethel does disco)... but theres alot of showunes that would do great on the dance floor.

Posted: 5/1/04 at 10:06pmThe Easy as Life remix is the bomb...I think someone like Deborah Cox with a proven track record with club mixes is one of a few qualified to do dance versions of broadway songs...I say if u sang it on the great white way and it would bang if you sang it for the club. Do it. Otherwise it cheapens the Boradway mystique...I have the pop AIDA LP (for the janet song) it SUX. That concept was horrible. But I gues Sir Elton got his coins either way...LOL

I like the Aida concept CD...I love Boys II Men's "Not Me", the Spice Girls' "My Strongest Suit" is cute, and Elton's trio with Sherie and Heather sounds pretty good.
Have we figured out if she performs on Tuesday nights or not yet? I'm going on Tuesday...just wondering if she'll be there...I'd like to see her, but I love Saycon, so that will be cool, too.

Thanks luvtheEmcee. ![]()
But I have to say if the remix is done the right way thenk I'm all for it. I would have hated to hear them put a dance beat behind the original vocals of EAL. That would have been crap.
Doing an entire remix cd of AIDA was a joke although doing a mixture of other Broadway songs doesn't sound so bad. ![]()
I enjoyed the concept cd. It was an interesting twist to hear other vocals to the music. Come on, how can you not enjoy Tina Turner's voice on EAL or Kelly Price doing "Gods Love Nubia"??? And of course I liked Janet and Elton doing "I know the truth".

I believe she is out Tuesday nights and Wednesday afternoons. You might want to check the disneyonbroadway website. They might have her performance schedule. I will say.. don't be to upset if you end up with the alternate. She has also been turning in a beautiful performance. But I understand your desire to see the main hussy on display.

I'm feeling sick just thinking about that. Imagine how awful that'd sound!

I too bought the concept cd - primarily because I wanted to hear Janet. I thought the entire cd was TRASH - except of course for Heather Headley's "Elaborate Lives".

Posted: 5/4/04 at 12:32pmSo she is closing the show in September?

The initial broadway.com article only mentioned that she'd be staying through the summer. That sounds to me like she'll definitely close the show and that they won't cast anyone else in the role.
#221re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Broadway in the Clubs
Posted: 5/4/04 at 2:11pmSince theres a few shows that I am sure will be closing soon.. you think they will just move it?
#222re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Broadway in the Clubs
Posted: 5/4/04 at 2:53pmGiven all the recent casting changes (primarily with the lead role), I'm thinking they're just going to close it. Unlike 'Beauty & the Beast' - this isn't a show families will be heading to NYC to see for years to come, so i can't see them simply moving it to another theater. I hate to say this, but they should probably close the show and simply revive it later.

Posted: 5/4/04 at 2:55pmI think for the closing they should have the different Aidas come back and each do a different portion of the show.

TheaterMafia - great idea!! however, i think they should exclude Maya Days...her voice was painful to listen to!
