Delysm - Spelling Bee Rip-Off

Has anyone seen the Delysm coughing medicine commercial? I just saw it and it's such a rip-off of Spelling Bee. First off, it takes place at a spelling bee, but it uses the same fonts as the Spelling logo and it has the "bees" on it just like the spelling bee logo, and the kids are dressed sort of like the characters in the show. It's weird. I thought maybe they'd give a nod to the show by saying something, but they didn't.

Okay, so I'm not the only person who noticed that. The whole spelling bee thing didn't bug me, but the fact that bees and the font looked like they were taken directly from the show sort of bugged me a little.

Even I noticed this and I'm one of the selected few who refuses to ever see this show at any cost.

don't fret. I'm sure the Spelling Bee folks are delighted to have the free subliminal advertising. And of course your average cougher won't get the implication at all.

I was saying that to my sister, and she had no idea what I was talking about. I definitely noticed, though. It bugged me so much!

Oh my gosh, I saw this commercial! I really thought it was an ad for the Tour at first! Weird...

I noticed that when I was watching Heroes last week. I was doing the 2-screen experience and had my computer on, so I paused the tv and googled the Spelling Bee logo just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.

lol I looked up the medicine to see if they had the commercial online (not that I found...) but on their website they have a little question that is "what is the longest running off-broadway musical?" haha. so obviously the people at Delysm are broadway nerds...

It took me about five times of seeing this before I stopped getting excited thinking it was a commercial for the show or tour.

It just seems weird that they'd use the same exact font. Like the "The 2nd Annual..." is done in a scriptive type text, with the words "Spelling Bee" done in the same exact childish font as on Broadway. Just seems strange!
