I saw Hairspray today. I wasn't expecting much from Diana Degarmo, but i gotta admit - this girl is awesome. Her acting was really good...she played Penny so well. And her voice was excellent too, especially in WIthout Love when she has all those high notes.
Hairpsray is definitely worth seeing right now.

Nice that Diana's getting all the props! She's so beautiful, too. What can I say, I love girls.

Ah yes. Girls are really really something, aren't they?

You'd better believe it.
The worst part is I can't get a girlfriend in NYC.
They're all taken and I'm still single.
What else should I do, be a swinger?

If you're under 25 ask Diana on a date, apparently she's single.
; )
I saw her Friday and she was great!! Her singing and acting were great. She was a little too over-the-top, but much better than I expected!
Good to hear she is doing well in this role. I heard she was terrible in West Side Story. This role seems to suit her better anyway. :)

It's at a time like this when I wish they released new cast recordings of shows, or at least just had a few tracks available. I would kill to hear her sing "Mama" or "Without Love".
That's pretty exciting. I've seen Hairspray, never been a huge fan, though I did enjoy myself. Maybe I should head back! It sounds like it would be worth it.
She really is great vocally so I imagine she is doign well. I am very pleased about her doing the Bklyn tour.

I saw it Saturday too, and I was really impressed. I wasn't really expecting anything great, but her singing and acting totally blew me away.
As I've said on the Brooklyn thread, I was truly impressed by Diana. I don't remember Penny being that much of a standout, but Diana has really brought a lot to the role. I sat in the very front row so saw everything up close. She stays in character every second on stage and makes the most out of her comedy bits. She stopped the show at one point with her bit about "arms" and the laughter went on for about 10 seconds. She's a pro in every sense, and when she finally gets to belt those songs it's obvious she's got the chops. She is no pop singer stunt casting. Just like Frenchie, she's got the chops, but she's also got the acting ability. As a performer myself I can truly say she's got a career ahead of her. It's just a matter of the right roles. I would rather have seen her do Anita in "West Side" then Maria. Go see "Hairspray" again. It's worth it. I plan on going back.

I'm 18, and so is she, but I can't get her. She's too busy.
