I posted about this earlier :)
It looks so photoshopped.....but it's not, apparently.

She looks different than other Pennys but i think she'll look fine onstage.
Okay...I did a search...I'm not going to type in a million combinations to see if it's been posted...thanks for the link though, sorry.
I thought it was photoshopped. Her head doesn't even fit the wig. She seems to be trying so we'll see tomorrow night.
I really liked that article. She is a really hot penny on the last page.
I think the wig makes her look weird.
we'll see im going tomorrow night.
She looks like she is 13! Penny is supposed to be in her mid-teens. Ugly ugly ugly
Why wasn't she given a longer wig...? Why would they change something like that?

I'm not going to say I'm happy with the pictures, but I'm going to wait until I see her do the role before I pass judgement. Seeing it on Saturday (was going to see it earlier, but I have to see Arbender as Seaweed again, and I can't afford to go twice in one week :P *cough*likeIdidthatonetime*cough* I mean, what?)
I think she is Italian, judging by her name-But she is white, just very tan
im glad they brought back the original Penny wig. i think shell be really good, but well just have to see.
I think she looks nerdy enough for the part, though I'm not used to the bobbed wig on her head yet.
oh intresting...i thought she was black and i was like wait i thought interacial dating was suppose to be important

They might switch the wigs around by opening night, I'm not too worried about still photos. I think she'll look cute live and in color (and motion). She's a really pretty girl so it's hard to make her look dorky so I'm pretty impressed because she's definitely dorky Penny in the first pictures.
The respect the crew and cast have for her and the respect she has for what she is doing is what shone through in that article. I thought it was a great, long article detailing what kind of work goes into a show such as Hairspray. I got a kick out of her harmonica problems. I think over the course of three months she'll carve out her own niche as Penny, even if she can't match Tracy Miller in the hearts of many.
BTW, I believe Diana is Italian, French and Native American -by way of Atlanta, Georgia. ; )

ew....that's all I have to say about the short wig. I hope that's not what people say about her performance but I just am not sure if she's right for the role. Tomorrow is her first performance, right? If she's any good I may rush while in NYC in March...
Cheers,
C.
I think that this is a trial one, her real wig will be better fitted.
I believe Diana is Italian and Hispanic.
that's definitely not the one they'll be using, or else they're just dumb. The entire 60's vibe was big hair, it would only seem natural to continue that.
I remember seeing a rather odd looking advertisement when Christi Carlson-Romano was Belle in Beauty and the Beast. It was her in the blue costume, but with short blonde curly hair. I wish I still had the picture with me, but sadly I have misplaced it. In short, it looked hideous, but for the performances they kept the traditional brown hair--thank god!
What I'm MORE curious about is how she acts the part.

She looks a bit hispanic. A bit too much for the role.
She looks a bit like Rosie Perez, no?

If anyone read the story, it explains that they just stuck a wig on her head to check it out... This is a feature about the rehearsal process and this wig was part of it. I think that is basically it. No point is judging her based on it. I think she comes off well in the rest of the story.
