Who would you want to star, direct, and write the music and lyrics?
I think a studio album was done with this concept once.
Yes! Princess Diana: The Musical! It's hilariously terrible. My favorite track is "He's Such A Man" ('Oh he's the manliest man that the world has ever known')

Can we stop doing this to the poor person. The film was too horrible to see really but I saw it

There was an off-off-Broadway musical based in her life entitled Queen of Hearts. It was presented in 1998 at the now-shuttered and greatly-missed little theatre in the Village, the Grove Street Playhouse.
The authors were unhappy with the production, and disavowed it. I found it winning and charming, and went back several times. The score was bright and tuneful; it's too bad it was never recorded. It far surpassed in quality the things the critics fawn over today. (We don't need to confront once again the dismal list of names. Sitting through them was bad enough.)
As for Queen of Hearts, after the Grove Street run, it was remounted in a new production, this time to its authors' satisfaction, at the Clurman Theatre.
Unfortunately, it wasn't as good.

The show would certainly be a crash and burn.
What's next? Titanic the musical?

^ I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
A new one on me, just had a listen, good heavens.
The bedroom scene, with Her Majesty and Prince Philip is especially arresting...
I have a copy of the previously mentioned recording. I have yet to be brave enough to listen to it; the tracklist is that frightening. I think my favorites in regard to cringe-worthy-ness are "She's the Star" and "He's Such a Man."

I listened to a few free seconds on the amazon.com website. So bad, so very, very bad. I mean, painful.
I'm in the camp that says "Let the women rest in her grave for a few decades before we resurrect her. At least let Charles and Camilla die off so the authors have full reign to dramatize their story."
