According to the schedule on their website, there are a lot more previews scheduled for Part 1 than for Part 2. Could it have something to do with the ending of P1? Seems strange.

There was supposed to be a screening at NYU on Sept 24, but the website says "Tickets not on sale," so maybe it's been canceled? And Fandango lists one on Sept 21 at Kew Gardens Cinemas, but there's no mention of it on their site either.Is it possible the NYC-area screenings have been canceled because they're going to be bringing the production to NY? I seem to remember there weren't any NYC screenings of the Branagh Macbeth for that reason.

ChiTheaterFan-Yes, I just looked at shows that opened in 2016, because I was too lazy to look up everything that opened in the entire season. Maybe it's just that the spring season has been that much better than the fall.

Of the 10 shows that have opened on Broadway this year, it looks like only TWO have not been Critics Picks: Our Mother's Brief Affair and Blackbird. What's the point of naming a show a Critics Pick if almost everything on Broadway is one?

Re the lottery loser seats, the line forms on the opposite side of the theatre from where they have the lottery winners line up. They tell people not to line up until after the drawing is done, so last night to punish the people who had lined up during the drawing (or possibly because there were a bunch of little kids at the back of the line), the lotto monitor had the back of the line go to the box office first. They just announced today that they're going to have a $20 ticket lottery in the Public Theater lobby, beginning November 17.

Actually, I think it could be "people reading letters." I found this on the page about the play on Sarah Ruhl's website:You really need nothing more than a table and two chairs for two wonderful actors who could even read the letters straight from the page rather than memorizing them. You might then use someone to read stage directions rather than projecting subtitles. So maybe the staging will be similar to "Love Letters"?
