I know from Twitter that he had the flu very recently and I've noticed that his understudy has gone on frequently this week. Since this is supposed to be his last weekend, I was wondering if anyone knew if he's performing Saturday and Sunday or if he had to leave the show early.

My partner and I are attending the matinee tomorrow and my partner's become a big fan of Matt's over the past year. So fingers crossed he's there, but sort of bracing ourselves that he might not be.

Thanks for any info.

No, he's still supposed to leave this Sunday. He actually extended because he was originally going to leave at the end of November (at least according to a tweet sometime in the late summer/fall, if I remember correctly).

KJ Hippensteel is the standby, not the understudy (that's Nick Spangler, who has yet to go on). KJ sounds great, is Josh Romney-esque, and hilarious, but I understand being disappointed if you don't get to see who you had set out to see!

I was wondering this, too, since KJ's been on all week so far.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I saw him in a reading of "Diner" last month. He has an AMAZING voice. Sorry that has nothing to do with BOM.

Do we know who is replacing Doyle? Was there an announcement?

Does anyone know what Matt Doyle's next project is? He posted a photo on Instagram about an hour ago that reads: "First day at Brooklynite workshop rehearsal." Anyone know?!?

ryandl15, I assume Doyle is referring to a workshop of the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company musical he's been attached to previously.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

My partner and I saw the "Brooklyn Superhero" reading at Vassar in July and this is indeed his next project. I chatted with him briefly after the Saturday matinee (yep, he was there) and he said it's being workshopped with an Off-Broadway run the goal. He said the book is being reworked. It was a fun show with some really good songs even as a reading, so I'm really looking forward to see how it develops.
