Nellie changes herself at the end to not be racist and to love him cuz she loves him...not worry about the race of the kids.

Doesn't she marry a white guy?

You can't argue that she has stopped being a racist once she gets married to a white man.

She had an issue with the fact that he had been married to, and fathered children with, a woman who wasn't white. The fact that he engaged in a mixed marriage was the problem to her. You can argue that she stopped thinking that way, and regarding him as like, a bad, unworthy person because of it.

^^^ very well explained.

She actually said that in the musical before the YOU GOT TO BE CAREFULLY TAUGHT number... There was a dialogue about it between her & Cable.
