I saw it last week (November 2nd) and the show ran roughly 1:50...but I really didn't care as this is one of the best shows I have seen in my life. The sexual tension and the power struggle between Dancy and Arianda (who deserves a Tony) was palpable, and the play itself had me by the throat at the very end.
It was the same feeling I had after I saw "Black Swan"...
****SPOILERS****
How does everyone interpret this play? Personally, I thought it was (relatively) clear that Vanda was not a real person. The scene in the play within the play where the character is visited by Aphrodite/Venus, I essentially feel like that scene is played out by the play we're watching. Vanda's endless bag of tricks, her non-appointment, her knowledge of Thomas's life. To me, it all adds up to her being some sort of "visitation," to literally turn the mirror onto Thomas's sexual fantasies (in which he wants to be the dominator).
I find it refreshing that such a legitimately feminist work was written by a male.
