She was not great. She was meh. And then the show flopped.

I could care less if the show flopped, that isn't the point of this thread. If you want to make your own thread on how Millie was a financial failure then be my guest.
"She was not great. She was meh"
Idk i didn't see her so i can't say but i did here a recording of her singing "gimme gimme" and she knocked it out of the freakin park. This is all subjective anyway...

By using a strict definition of "flop" this means:
FOLLIES (original) was a flop
PACIFIC OVERTURES was a flop
SWEENEY TODD was a flop
THE SECRET GARDEN (709p) was a flop
INTO THE WOODS (765p) was a flop
WOMAN OF THE YEAR (770p) was a flop
THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (903p) was a flop
THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES (981p) was a flop
GRAND HOTEL (1,017p) was a flop
SHENANDOAH (1,050p) was a flop
MEMPHIS (1,166p) was a flop
And you are leaving out the fact that most (not all) of these shows returned their investment thanks to national tours and other ancillary rights.

I do believe you mean you couldn't care less.
I didn't see Egan in Millie, but I saw her in Cabaret. Great voice, and anything but bland. A bit of a loose cannon, really.

No, of course not, just that the business FAILED.
How do you manage to sabotage your own threads every single time?
Your threads are flops.

Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

This is a message board and obviously people are going to get off topic sometimes. Even though this thread got off topic we still had an interesting conversation on "flops" that i thought was very fascinating to hear. How about you stop bitching like a 5 yr old and just stop commenting on my threads if they piss you off so much? It's not THAT hard...

I saw Susan in the final performance, and wondered whatever happened, so I looked her up on Wikipedia. She's married with two daughters and living in Orange County, CA.
I thought she was fine, a nice voice, but Sutton was so special it's tough for me to make a comparison.
I bought Susan's album and I mostly connect her with her take on "Taylor the Latte Boy".
btw, Sutton's back home in New York, I saw her a couple weeks ago jogging in Central Park.
Also, I have seen many other Millies, most recently Laurie Veldheer at the Paper Mill, and she's wonderful. Blue eyes to boot!

Susan Egan is living in Orange County and teaching at her Alma Mater, The Orange County (High) School of the Arts. She's pretty much a joke among her students (or at least was when I was in high school), who see her for what she is: a voice that can't act who is fame hungry and bitter. She's got quite a reputation for being a first class bitch professionally as well as in her teaching position.
Can you tell I'm not a fan?
