Did anyone see that "Casper" national tour back several years ago? I was wondering why it never came to Broadway. Was it really bad?

Which starred CHITA RIVERA. There is a picture and links at http://www.theflyguy.com

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

It did not have a ghost of a chance to begin with. It could never scare up enough customers

Riveral only did this show to see if she had the stamina to do The Visit. As it turned out, she had the stamina but The Visit did not.

Maybe it will happen someday. With this & Over & Over it is like having 2 new Kander & Ebb shows. I would love to hear their first venture the unproduced "Golden Gate"

I would also like a CD collection of their cut songs starting with those in the original version on Kiss . Come to think of it, why not make something akin to a jukebox musical. Fashion a musical out of Kander & Ebb trunk songs

I did see this, with Chita. All I can say is that she had to sing a song titled "MagdalenaMontaverde.com"

and yes, those were lyrics.

'nough said.

I think it would be interesting to see. I assume they haven't released regional rights yet. I could see high schools doing it, hehe.

It was a Pittsburgh CLO production that toured a small number of cities. It was (being as nice as possible) a cute show for children. As a piece of musical theatre, it grotesquely lacked throughout. I may have the program from Starlight Theatre in Kansas City (not a picture program, but the STAR-BILL). If I can find it, I'll PM you for an address to send. It means so much to me, I'll send it off for free re: Did anyone see the 'Casper, the musical' national tour?
