I'm asking this because I'm playing a clown getting raped in a friend's short film. Anyone have similar experiences?

I had to commit suicide in Jesus Christ Superstar by hanging myself on stage - in another show I had to be a complete nut case and beat myself on stage - the two most difficult things I've ever had to do.
Oh also, playing "Cousin Kevin" in Tommy - I had to "beat up" a 6 year old boy and it took a lot to be able to get into that character.
Best of luck.

I'm actually getting raped by a mime. :)

It's a parody of really pretentious student films.

Mellersh in ENCHANTED APRIL. Second to last scene. I can't wear underwear nor a thong because it is a really intimate theatre. The bit plays out that the tub I got in exploded with hot water, so I jump out and grab a small towel. I enter the stage and there are ladies all around me (this is 1922). Still trying to be proper, I attempt to shake the hand of one of them, but my towel slips a little. I catch it. A minute later, the towel slips again exposing my buttocks. The towel is only held together by my hand.

Very difficult to control it and not expose what the good Lord gave me on my front side.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I was just recently in I Never Saw Another Butterfly. For those who aren't familiar with the show it's play about the holocaust. I had to strip down out of my clothes and stand with my back to audience in a nude colored body suit and get shot by a nazi.
That was by fat the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do emotionally and physically.

But we got Best in Show One-Act at my Thespian District competition.

I just played Banjo in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and for those of you who don't know, it's basically this massive whirlwind of dynamic and CRAZY energy. I had to chase/grope an old lady, walk around the stage with my pants off, trap a lady in a mummy case, army crawl across the stage, front roll across the stage, dance, sing off key and with no music, produce vintage bras out of my pants etc etc...

fun FUN show

Remembering to get the right lyrics in Phantom. The "down once more" part in Act 2 especially which, if not careful, can become a mish-mash of the earlier lyrics of Music of the Night.

In a one-act comedy version of Persephone, there was a sudden serious moment when I had to whirl around the stage chanting:

"Blooms of apples, seeds of corn,
break your sleep and be reborn!
Life is stirring, branch and root,
life is calling forth your fruit!" etc, etc...

It was one of those moments so full of melodrama that it makes your stomach turn, and my director wouldn't let me play it down or make it funny at all. It felt like such a character break.

Anyway, good luck with the mime. Don't let'em smear your greasepaint.

at six flags great adventure i played a character named fernando(see my buddy icon) who is supposed to be a latin dancer who was debatably famous and talented at some point but now can't dance remotely and thinks the entire parade is about him. Now mind you this was rediculously fun to do except for that under the makeup i'm a pale irishman who can actually dance, save for the 2 size too small work boots used to make fernando clumsy.

When I was fifteen years old, I was in a student production presented to the entire high school body about the dangers of sexual abuse and rape in teenage relationships. I had absolutely no idea how rape "worked" at the time, and performing a scene in which my character was raped by a violent boyfriend for such a large audience was by far the most difficult moment of my entire life. While there was no upper nudity, I am still mortified by the experience when I look back on it.

I played Robert in my school's production of the one-act play Voices -- the ending, where the character discovers what the source of the voices that he and his wife are hearing, always seemed much too melodramatic. I had so much trouble being completely serious while delivering this overzealous monologue comprised mainly of the words 'My darling' three times consecutively, along with three or four 'dear god's. The balance was impossible to find, and I still don't think I ever completely got it.
