I watch/read various video clips and articles all the time with performers praising work of their director and designers. But are there other directors/designers that may not find their fellow colleagues work that great?

yes. there is work that has been produced by directors and designers that has been praised by performers yet I, as a designer, did NOT find that impressive.

does that answer it? do you need an example?

Do you expect any actor would publicly talk ill of his director or the design staff? That would be a huge bonehead move. For anyone to comment on those things publicly is asking for backlash.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
