Posted: 11/30/04 at 5:50pmDoes anyone have any information on this? I searched google and only got the soundtrack, and movie information. Anyone know anything about this? I know there was talk about this awhile back, but I have forgotten my source. Thanks in advance!

Posted: 11/30/04 at 5:52pmLet's hope that talk was all that developed. Nothing worse than a bad movie being made into a worse musical.

Patrick wouldn't do the musical.
I think it has potential.

Posted: 11/30/04 at 6:41pmNo, I know he won't. I do like the movie. I was only joking! I'm not sure I see it being a success as a stage musical though. Now, could you imagine Dirty Dancing: Havanna Nights? That would be bad!

Posted: 11/30/04 at 6:47pmThey have been talking about this for years...I think people got a little worried after FOOTLOOSE and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and URBAN COWBOY all flopped...and they should be. DIRTY DANCING is a guilty pleasure with a predictable plot buoyed a considerable amount by the good performances of Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze (yes, I thought he was good in the film, so there)...Dumb-da-dumb-dumb idea...NEXT!

Posted: 11/30/04 at 6:51pmThat's the problem. How can you justify funding a dance oriented musical, based on a film, when so many that have come before have failed? It would have to be very well written to have a chance. Gosh, Footloose is so bad. Against my better judgement, I bought the CD years ago. One listen and it's been boxed away (too embarassed to have it on my self).

It's currently running in Sydney, Australia (an out-of-town/country tryout, if you like). It's doing pretty well at the box office, selling out just about every performance thus far, but the reviwes have been pretty bad...

Posted: 11/30/04 at 7:12pmI'll take Yahoo Serious over George W. anyday.

Posted: 11/30/04 at 7:32pmI would take anything (well almost) over G.W. Bush! I think us given the world him, is far worse than anything Australia or Canada (haha) has given us.
