Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

The tour kicks off it's run here in Seattle in August. And rumour has it that Norbert Leo Butz is signing on. I just saw him in New York, and i'd pee myself to see him out here.

Does anyone know for sure on this? And also, when do tickets go on sale?

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

I somehow doubt that he would go on tour, although it would be great that we could possibly see him on tour if it's true.

He was quoted as saying he is going on tour. Since we're the first stop, I'm sure we'll get him.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

Anyone know the specific dates of this and when tickets are available? I'd kill to see Norbert here.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

I'll wait until I see the formal announcement. He's been going back and forth with doing the tour. If he does come with the tour, I'm definitely getting tix.

So who got tickets? Who's going when?

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

The Paramount shows are so expensive that I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to ANY of the shows this season.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

I hear ya. re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour Some shows have a top-price of US$53 though - still a lot of money, but less than half of what you'd pay in New York for the same seats! (And the same Norbert experience. re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour)

When does Paramount have the student rush discount? I remember getting it for Phantom in October 2003. Is that always the case?

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

They don't have a student-rush to my knowledge. At least I know they don't with their really popular shows. There's no way Wicked will have a rush. I've contacted the Paramount and they haven't gotten back to me about if they actually offer them or not, but they've given me someone to call. I'll get back to you.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

Tickets are expensive. I don't know if I can go to any other show at the Paramount other than Wicked. I don't have much hope for student tickets for DRS, but I can hope for it.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

I wonder how tickets are selling. Other than us theater freaks, most people I talk to aren't very aware of it coming to town. Or of Norbie being in the show.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

Row A seats for Saturday's matinee were still available as of yesterday, and today Row C is still available.

(Not that I'm encouraging anyone to snap them up - I want them for myself!)

BTW DD, I might be in Seattle with the family next weekend. Do we get to do lunch together?

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

I hate starting new threads so I'm going to ask here - the broadwayacrossamerica.com site says that Shoshana Bean will be Elphaba in "Wicked" at the Paramount in Sept/Oct. Is she the screamy one? And has Molly Ringwald started the "Sweet Charity" tour yet? I wonder what the feedback's been on her. I'd like to catch one or the other this fall.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

Thanks. I hear the whole Wicked run is sold out though, so I guess the point is moot. re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour Here's hoping for "Sweet Charity"!

I'm getting my DRS tickets tomorrow - I'm contemplating between top dollar for third row or less money to be in the mid/rear balcony. It might just be fuzzy memory, but I seem to recall the Paramount's mezzanine being really steep. Am I wrong? I don't want to be watching people's scalps all night.

Going to the matinee on Sunday, Row E.

Matinee on Saturday, Row C. Which is really good, I suppose, but Row A centre was available just two days earlier. re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour I wanted to feel Norbert spitting on me.

Hey Type a Tiff,

After a hell of a week that cheered me up a little bit. To be completely honest I would've enjoyed the same. Strange I know.

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

F*CK! My long post just got eaten up by my laptop and it's goddamn tiny buttons that I accidentally hit.

Racetrack, long story short, I was saying that you should buy the cheapest priced tickets in the rear corner balcony because if it's anything like the matinee yesterday, the mezzanine will be nearly empty. I went to the balcony during intermission to check out the view and only the first 3 rows were full. The usher told me 21 people bought tickets for the mid/rear balcony and all but 6 of them moved up to the first few rows at the beginning of the show. So you can spend half the price and still get a top dollar view! Honestly, it's worth it. The production was hysterical and excellent, the performances were strong, Norbert stole the show and Tom Hewitt made fun of Walla Walla. Could it get any better??

re: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Tour

Saw the show tonight... Seattle people... get your tickets NOW. I couldn't believe how empty the balcony was. This show should be selling out! Other than a scaled back set, the production is right up there with the NYC production.
