I got to see the last show in Houston and it was a very wonderful show. I am now another fan of Norbert Leo Butz. I've always been a fan of his through recordings and videos, but this is the first time I've seen him in person. He is as hilarious as everyone has mentioned on this board. Now I know where all the references on peoples Avatar comments are from. Although, it kind of ruined some of the funny lines because I'd read it on here already.
Tom Hewitt was also excellent as always. I'd seen him as Officer Lockstock in the Urinetown tour a couple years ago and he did not disappoint in this show either. He reminded me of Michael Caine actually. I haven't seen John Lithgow, but I know that Tom probably sang it better.
Laura Marie Duncan was amazing. I loved watching her. Fun to see her as a blond after seeing her in Full Monty pics as a brunette. Hollis Resnik was classy and had good chemistry with Drew McVety. Drew was great, but I don't know..just not as impressed with his performance.
Ok, well, this show has been talked about so much, I'm not really sure what else to say about it. I loved the show. If anyone has any questions about the production, I'll be happy to try to answer them...as best I can.

I totally agree with you on the performance of Drew. I had posted my review feeling that same way. While he had great chemistry with Hollis, his French accent sounded, in parts, more like the accent of the IKEA man.
I am glad that you enjoyed the show. I did as well. And I was thinking that I would have been more partial after listening to the cast recording, but still enjoyed it. I did not however liked how they changed the opening song.

Yes, I am not to sure about the enw song. I LOVE GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT. I want the chance to hear the new song so I can decide myself, though

I'm not sure if this is even scheduled to play in the DC metro area, but I'm hoping it does, as I didn't see it on Broadway.
Thanks for the review.

Oh great! Now Calvin's stalking me by proxy. I wonder if I sat next to them - now that would be too weird.
Oh yeah, I remembered Randy talked about the attendance and it there were a lot of people, but it didn't sell out. My row was half filled.

"It was their first Norbert experience."
What an interesting way of putting it. Glad you enjoyed the show. It's greatly missed over here...
