Last night I saw the national tour of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Usually when you see a national tour you know that the actors are going to be really good but you don't expect them to be as good or better then the original. This cast was amazing. I even liked this Marcy better then the original. Each actor added their own twist on the character which made it very nice. There was a part in the show when there was one audience member left and they gave her this impossible word and she got it right. You could tell Rona and Panch weren't ready for that but they had a nice recovery. I noticed some changes but very small. There was some small choreography chances and because it was a different cast I noticed some vocal changes. During the "I Love You Song" Mitch is suppose to do a vocal run but instead he did a run that was much like an Indian raga. It was so beautiful and fit well with the music. There was also a mom sitting in front of me with her two sons. This was the boys first musical and they loved it. Everyone in the audience couldn't stop rolling in their seats with laughter. This bee gets an A+ for being A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I strongly encourage everyone to see this tour Also remember it is Broadway Equity Fights Aids(or whatever it is called) time, so be sure to bring money.

millie,
I saw the Boston Bee last Wednesday and they've started collecting for BC/EFA. They have Marcy's kick-boards (decorated and signed) and signed posters/Playbills.

That's a regular feature of the show.

What LizzieCurry is trying to say, is that they have words that people can spell in anyway *as long as it's close* and either stay in or get kicked out.
Some guy in Philly spelled it caterjune instead of caterjunes, and he got kicked of before he got Xer....

Not knowing all this info makes the show a lot funnier.
If you're already reading this post and have never seen the show, too bad...
