My husband and I are planning on going to NY for the first time for our wedding anniversary in February. Where is a good place to find discount tickets for shows? We want to see one every night we are there. Also what is a lottery a rush and a digital lottery? Can someone please help explain!!! Thanks in advance!

For discou he.  Tbeatermania.com and broadwaybox.com are a good place to start.

No one will have codes that far from now, however.  Since Feb is a slow time, many, many shows will have them

Rush - is in person, waiting  in line discounts.   Usually sold as soon as the box office opens

Lottery is similar, except names are randomly selected for the discount.  This usually happens an hour or two before curtain.

On line lottery  is the same thing but doing it rigidly.  Many have go e to this.  Some even let you enter a few days at a time, ahead of time.

Playbill.com has a nice breakdown of which shows offer what.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

dramamama611 explains it all very well.

In addition to rush tickets, many shows offer standing room seats (dubbed SRO) once the show sells out. Those can also be purchased at the box office on the day of the show. For many popular shows, the line for rush tickets forms hours before the box office opens in the morning, so make sure to do your research and plan ahead if you want to try for rush tickets the day of.

The Playbill article mentioned by dramamama611 can be found here: it's super helpful and I suggest you check it out for show-specific information. http://www.playbill.com/article/broadway-rush-lottery-and-standing-room-only-policies-com-116003
