hey there people! I was just wondering, I've heard reference to them before, but have no idea what they are, when people talk about the discount codes for shows. I'm planning a trip to NYC this summer on my way to see family in upstate new york, and pretty much the only reason behind the layover is for the theatre (well, it's the main reason) and, being a poor and penniless student, I think I need to find all the help I can get with the tickets. :P and I think student rushing might be a little hard, considering it's gonna be the last week of July/2nd week of august.
I was just wondering if any of you guys could give me advice on how to get these tickets with these codes, or just cheaper in general? I'm looking for possibly dress circle or stalls (I don't understand mezzanine or orchestra...Stalls is front stalls and rear stalls, the two best parts, and then dress circle, the third best).
I'm looking really for tickets to A Chorus Line, Gypsy, In The Heights, Spring Awakening, Passing Strange and Crybaby, if it's still open. I'm a john waters freak. :P
Any help would be really really really appreciated. And rewarded with my everlasting love.

Try www.broadwaybox.com
Orchestra = main level of theater
Mezzanine = first balcony
Balcony = 2nd balcony
Often the price differences are:
Orchstra and FRONT Mezz most expensive and the same
Rear Mezz and Balcony a less expensive option
sometimes REAR Balcony is even less

Okie doke, thanks guys. These prices hurt my eyes.
I'm used to student rushing and getting orchestra seats for £20 (I guess that's $40). oh well, it's worth it. :d

All the shows you mentioned are readily available with discounts on broadwaybox.com. Expect to pay about $65 to $75 per ticket for orch-front mez, with fees. Maybe a (very)little less at tkts, but uncertainty and long lines add to the price you pay.
Rush works great for locals willing to take a chance, but if you don't score, it may be too late for alternate choices.
