I think that Disney on Broadway is a good thing. They've done so much good for broadway and new york. Any bad thing they've done is greatly out weighed by the good things they've accomplished (which were posted before me).

The only thing that I wish they'd do is to make more shows like Aida. Shows NOT based off any disney movie. If they did that, then they would be a greater asset to Broadway.

I actually worked at the Lion King when it just open on Broadway in the merchandise section. They invited everybody from the front house to their Tony award party and it was incredible because that year they won 6 Tonys. Disney really thinks about the "little people". I even got to perform in their Easter Bontet pagent that year at the New Amesderdam Theatre. Though I think Ragtime should have won best musical, I think Disney is a great influnence and it's bringing people to the theatre. Maybe they will see something else based on how great the Disney show was. Kinda of like six degees of seperation with Kevin Bacon only it is Disney. If only they will do Newsies into a Broadway show now. 'SIGH"

I think it's good for Broadway; I think Aida was great, and Beauty and the Beast is good for families just getting into Broadway. Obviously, they're not the most intelligent shows in the world..but better Disney than All Shook Up or some other crappy jukebox musical.

"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness. Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings. Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end. But end it does. Another part of you vanishes. That's show business."-Anonymous

i still haven't seen Lion King! I think Disney is bothe good and bad. It brings people ,who might not otherwise go, to the theatre and is suitable for a wide audience. The bad point is it takes up a theatre that could hold the next Les Mis or Phantom.... it's a pretty safe bet that a disney show will get an audience though!

Good.

It has had a positive influence on all. It also opens Broadway to all, drawing all types of pepole to see not only Disney shows, but all kinds.

Ha ..for someone who LOVES Disney, I've never seen BandtheBeast, Lion King, or Aida...
what does that say about me?

However, I never liked the Lion King that much, and Beauty and the Beast I've been trying to see but I don't live in NY and it's not in Chicago ever, and Aida I'm DYING to see and I love the cd!

and I will be FLYING in from wherever I am to see The Little Mermaid..i know that!

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...
