What do you guys think? German audiences seem to be more forgiving than American audiences.

did u see Tarzan? i didn't get to see it.
I think sending TARZAN to Holland is a terrific idea.
Audiences that are stoned out of their gourds can be very forgiving.
Why would anyone import a show after those reviews?

That's what I was thinking Curtain. Esp, since they decieded upon it so quick after the reviews and the show opened.
Muscle, no I haven't seen it. I had no interest to see it when I was in New York, but it's slowly gaining my interest. I would def. go see it, I wouldn't turn down seeing anything, but it was sold out when I went. you?
it didn't really appeal to me, i hated "the lion king" and i wasnt impressed with "the beauty and the beast", the only disney musical i liked was "aida".

Since when does Germany = Holland?

Well, it said they're opening in Germany too. It just seems that shows like Dance of the Vampires and Dracula have done great in Europe, as opposed to their Broadway counterparts.
Indeed, those are 2 different countries. "Dutch" is the word that should have been used.

RentBoy: Dance of the Vampires is hardly a good example to use. The original German version of the show is like hearing some songs that sound the same but with some different lyrics and an entirely different book.
As for Dracula....can't explain that one.
Send the current production cast and everything

No, I'm not saying they were good shows, I'm just saying that they were modest hits over there, where as here they flopped. I think European audiences will love it.
It'll be interesting to see how the ticket sales are in like October.
It's Euro-trashy enough that it might just work over there. Hey, better they get stuck with it than us. Maybe they'll close it down here and haul the greenery over there and save themselves a few bucks.
TT
Poor, poor Holland.
Believe me, the German "Dance of the Vampires" was very, VERY different from the Broadway production. The term "trashy" suits the Broadway production much better then the German and Austrian...
And I wouldn't call the German audiences "more forgiving". Neither "Beauty and the Beast" nor "Aida" had a healthy run here.

GuyfromGermany is so right.
It's a shame what they did to "Tanz der Vampire" - it was such a great show...
Back to Tarzan, i don't think it will be a huge hit...
on the other hand - everything's a hit in the Netherlands - they just have it
