While it may have a been a joke to say "there aren't any Arabic actors," it would be completely accurate to say "there are virtually no Arab or Persian singer/actor/dancers auditioning for Broadway shows."
BTW, "Arabic" is a language, "Arab" is an ethnic identity.

Just now seeing your edit. Glad that's clear! haha. But I know several Arab/Middle Eastern actors who were typed out of the auditions for Aladdin. ...So I really don't know what the hell was going on with the casting of that show. And as someone linked below, there was quite the outrage about it.
