How is it that you've never seen this mama? It has been around the stores for years. No, it's not great however all is almost forgiven when Andrea Mc Ardle comes on as 'The Star To Be' during NYC.

I know, I cant believe its nearly 10 years old and I've had the VHS and the DVd all this time.
Its a pretty cold and lifeless production. Why did they bother?
Audra McDonald looking rather uncomfortable and the rest of the cast just walking it! Its back on the shelf to collect dust for another decade.

I actually preferred this version, for a start Annie isn't obnoxius and can actually sing. Despite loving Tim Curry I never liked his Rooster, Alan Cumming seemed to fit better. Plus I really can't stand Bernadette Peters so Kristen Chinoweth as Lily is fine by me. I'd say this version is definitely different from the original, and a bit "done on the cheap" but its not an awful remake.

I remember watching this ages and ages ago haha...back when I had no idea who Alan Cumming or Kristin Chenoweth were, but as much as I hate Annie, sounds like greta casting to me!

It's much better than the diabolical original.

I sneakily watched what we didn't last night over breakfast this morning.
I prefer 'NYC' to 'Lets Go To The Movies' -I'm not surprised she fell asleep during it!
On the whole just your average TV movie to me.
