Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?

I'm never sure as to whether threads like this go here or in Off-Topic, so feel free to yell and mock me if I made the wrong decision.

I've just been cast as “Virginia” in this show, but I know almost nothing about it.
It's about growing up in catholic school, and it was a flop on Broadway- that would be the extent of my knowledge.
The audition was very quick, we sang, did a monologue and danced.. no reading, so I didn't even get a glimpse of the script.

But I have also been cast as Louise is Carousel. I’m going to have to decide which role to except in the next few days, without having seen Patent Leather’s script. Now, I’ve done Carousel before, and it really isn’t a favorite of mine. But Louise is a nice role, and I know nothing about who Virginia is.

I have no problem doing small or chorus roles, but I don’t want to trade a good featured part for something tiny..

So does anyone have any details about what the role of Virginia is like?

I saw a high school performance of Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up. I don't remember it very well so I can't really help you but I do remember it being really funny.

I also saw a high school put on Carousel. Its a nice show but it bored me alot whereas DBPLSRRU didn't.

oh dear we did this show when i was a freshmen adn my high school has absolutley no taste what soever in shows. this show is the biggest peice of **** that you will ever read. The script is absolutely atoucious and i wanted to vomit every night i was soo embarassed to be in it. the role of virginia is one of the kids and shes a tomboy and has a few funny lines but the show is just a crap show theres a good reason it flopped the music is ok and kinda cute and catchy but as a whole it just doesn't work. pm me though if you need anything else

I found the show very humorous when i say it, but i did go to catholic school and thats what they were making fun of.

I saw the play when I was younger and thought it was cute...but that was like over 11 years ago so I may not be the best judge haha
