Funny Girl follows Brice's life from late teens to early thirties. I just don't see Lea Michele being able to pull off the comedic parts of the role. It's one thing to be able to belt Don't Rain On My Parade, it's another to pull off the comedy needed for Private Schwartz. I think Nicole Parker deserves a look for this role, if it happens. I know she's older than the range, but she comes across very young on stage, and she has the talent to pull off both the singing and the comedy.

I'd like to see someone who wil sing the notes that are written in the score, and not think they can "improve" on what Jule Styne wrote.

I've heard from a extremely reliable source Sher doesn't think too highly of Lea, at least for Fanny. It ain't gonna happen.

This production and its book changes will focus on the Henry roots of Fanny. Expect more Fanny, less Barbra.

Unless it's an Encores production, she can't do it. Glee shoots in LA and couldn't get out of her contract for this. Not even sure she'd want to.

I say go for an unknown -- Kristin Dausch did it in Dallas last year and was absolutely stunning. SERIOUSLY, absolutely stunning.
