That's a shame. Would have been great to see a true musical theatre hoofer playing that part.

Who, Jane?

She has done just as much television as Miss Applegate. And may I add here that there are thousands upon thousands of people who just "show up" on broadway after a lifetime of dancing lessons and acting in places other than broadway. It's not unusual. It's an everyday occurance.

Jane has done more Broadway shows than Christina, though, and I believe a lot more musical theatre in general. I think that's what bjivie2 was referring to.

Yeah...I know.

I am trying to point out that just because someone isn't "on the boards" doesn't mean they are automatically to be thought of as "lesser". People on the boards, like Jane, struggled for years in dance classes, and acting classes, and other jobs before "making it big" on broadway. She used to be one of those "why Jane instead of so and so" people just like Christina. These people have to come from somewhere...and it's not fair to lowgrade them just because you haven't been able to watch their struggle towards something.

Of course nobody should be thought of as "lesser" generally, just because they didn't take what is thought of as a traditional approach to Broadway. I think Christina's performance is winning in some respects, but I do believe that she is a "lesser" singer than Jane Krakowski. I haven't really seen enough of Jane's dancing to be able to compare them in that regard.

Hey, whoever said Christina shouldn't "Sell out" and go to Chicago...I have to respectfully disagree. If she can dance Reinking's choreography, I think she absolutely OWES it to herself to go into the vastly superior Chicago and rock out as Roxie. It'd probably give her a lot more positive input from the community here re: her performance to entice her back in an original vehicle.

I didn't say she shouldn't play Roxie (if it was my post you were referring to), I said she probably wouldn't want to replace at this point. (Particularly because she'd be about the 17th Roxie, even if you don't count the frequent Roxies more than once.) I think she would have been better off going in as a Roxie earlier and then trying her hand at Charity, actually.

I'm thinking of Christina as Roxie, and itd work. Granted, I'm thinking of the movie Roxie (I havent seen the Broadway show, so I'm going with what I know), but I can still picture her in the role.
