Yes, but you said they are one-dimensional, which isn't an opinion, it's a statement of fact: if you said they were underdeveloped, that would be an opinion, which is still wrong b/c it isn't supported by the text, but you're statement...Not an opinion.

Then maybe underdeveloped is more what I mean. I liked the characters in the show, but I would think it great if they did a movie based on the book with all the characters having more to them.

back to something i said earlier .. about Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick already being big stars. well that was in reference to someone else saying that they found big stars to cover the other roles. last time i checked these guys were big stars too. and not just in the movies ... broadway too. come on people!

and while we all know ponine loves eden there is NO way that she would ever get the role. Let's think about it. Idina isn't a big enough name so we're going to pick the understudy who NO ONE knows! That'll be helpful. If it does become a moive the only reason someone other than Idina would get it would be for a bigger name. Eden, no matter how talented, just isn't a bigger name.

This isn't a new thing. Let's think about My Fair Lady. Julie Andrews wins the Tony then gets booted from the movie for Audrey Hepburn who can't sing and has to be dubbed over. It's just the way Hollywood works. Fair or not. It's money.

What is so sad is that whoever is casting for the movie if it happened, would just offer the part to some big actresses to give the movie more star power. Say, like Nicole Kidman or Catherine Zeta Jones who have both done musicals. Most movies don't even require auditions, they just offer them to the biggest stars they can find. They wouldn't think Idina and Kristin are big enough for the movies. Maybe people who know Broadway think of them as big stars because they are, but people who aren't into theater will not know who they are.

Enough people would know of Kristin b/c she's done stuff outside of theatre. Ponine, which clips have you heard b/c someone sent me ones from her first performance, and they're pretty bad? I don't know how the person got them, but since it's not affecting how much money Wicked gets from me I'm not worried. I've given them plenty of money, and I plan on seeing it on every trip to NYC.
