Yes.
But do yourself a favor and spend the money on Ben and Jerry's.
It's a few hours of your life you will never get back.
my god, was it really that horrible? it couldn't possibly be worse than good vibrations.
$25 student rush? they start giving them out when the box office opens? front row? please confirm...thanks!
Trace, do you enjoy your $26.25? Unless you want to hear Marcy Harriell belt her butt off in one number and unless you want to see talents like Mann and Cooper COMPLETELY and utterly wasted, you might find something better to do with your money.
Good Vibrations, at the very least, had energy. This show is like one kumba-ya moment after another, conceived and directed like a college revue with a better budget.
Ouch.
Well, I'm still curious. $26.25 when the box office opens? Do you need a student ID?
ok, since I can't convince you that you're going to see all of your favorites wasted (don't go expecting wonders from Julia Murney)...it's just general day-of performance rush.
SHow up, get a ticket for the first row or the boxes.
Balcony was virtually empty so I moved from the box. The staging is such that,f rom the boxes, you will miss a lot of peripheral action...but, given that there's no dramatic arc to this evening whatsoever, you won't be missing much.
Thanks. I think I'd rather go see Rent or something, but I'm not the only one going so I don't know yet.
(don't go expecting wonders from Julia Murney)
I was. Oh well.
Bway: as horrible as you say this show is, I still want to see it. It is definitely worth my $26.25 to see this flop. I do appreciate the warning though. I won't go in expecting much. Thanks!
I'm probably not going now, anyway. Thanks for the warning though.

People.... I am tired of people trashing every show that is on here. it makes me wonder how old you are... and Considering the average age of the person isn't even out of high school you need to learn to shut your mouths and let people see for themselves and create an opinion of their own instead of ruining it for someone who may actually end up liking the show if you'd shut your dumb F#@$ing Mouth. PERIOD. GET A CLUE GROW UP

A bit harshly worded even though I totally agree with you Feng.
These people sound like a group of disgruntled, vindictive children throwing temper tantrums. Judging from the nonsense they're posting I'm quite certain they've never seen "Lennon".
My advice, go see "Lennon" for yourself and be pleasantly surprised. If you're a Lennon fan you'll love it. If you lived through that time you'll love it. If you're looking for a temporary two-and-a-half hour antidote to our current perma-war you'll love it.
Afterward you'll realize, just as I'm telling you, that these malcontents must never have even seen the show. Otherwise how could they be so far off?
I just have to repeat my earlier question since no one has answered it. How can people here on Broadwayworld.com who are one would guess theater lovers, many of whom are actors themselves, trash the industry they love and work in as they do here? Why on Earth would any of you want to see shows close and theaters dark? THAT is a true waste of talent, Bwaysinger. Dark theaters and out of work actors due to selfish, jealous back biters. That is the only possible excuse I can imagine for the behavior we're witnessing here.
Try to take a long view people. If you perpetuate this climate, when and if you do finally get that role you've been working toward someone is going to do the same thing to you. Trash your work because it's the "in" thing to do.
Dancingthrulife04, don't let these Broadway bashers influence you. You're capable of making up your own mind, I'm sure. Don't miss "Lennon" because of some bogus opinion on a message board. Student rush tix are only $25, and tix start as low as $46 or so. The Broadhurst is small. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. I've never allowed critics, professional or amateur, to make up my mind for me. Don't let these amateurs convince you. Make up your own mind. You'll thank me later.
I'm beginning to wonder if the FBI isn't still trying to get even with John!
It's interesting how fans of the show are criticized when they tell people that they should go see it and how it is perfectly fine when haters trash the show. (shrugs)
Actually, what really irks me is when people try to put down other people's opinions when they don't match their own. Bwaysinger saw the show, didn't like it, and has the right to tell people that he didn't like it. It's called free speech, something that John Lennon spent much of his life fighting to protect.

You took the words out of my mouth MEF. All of the posters here have the right to post a bad review if they want. Just because they didn't like a show does not mean that they didn't see it, are vindictive, still in high school or should necessarily be listened to. The same applies for people who loved a show. Personally I'll go see everything to judge for myself.
Also please don't generalize, not all John Lennon fans will like Lennon, not all Monty Python fans like Spamalot.
I liked Lennon, but that doesn't mean that everyone has to.
To quote Voltaire, "I may not agree with what you say, but I would defend to the death your right to say it."
I'm still going to see Lennon whether it gets raves or pans. I still love reading reviews.
As it says in my profile, I am seeing every single bway musical that opens from now on...thus, I am seeing Lennon. I am very glad I will be able to see it for $26.25 from the front row!

So let me get this straight...Is it only okay to post positive things on here? If ANYONE bases their decisions on what shows to see based on what they read here, they have only themselves to blame.
And by the way, is anyone else sick of the "If you like a show you're nice, if you don't like it you're mean" school of thought?

*raises hand high*
LOL. Let's defend my childish raking against Lennon.

Thanks. Saw every musical to come to Broadway in the last 4 years except Dance of the Vampires.
I would like to think i'm fairly qualified to smell crap when I smell it.
This show is just completely misconceived from the ground up. They turned every Lennon number into a big, ol' Rent-style hoop and holler (with the exception of two moving numbers, which were presented almost as book moments in a musical that is NOT a standard book musical but should have been).
I generally run to see every show that opens on Broadway as well. However, this is a turkey from the beginning to end, I think. In the end, it's only my opinion. Some people are going to go in and love it.
But, oh, guess what?!?! Some people I know who saw the show LIVED through that era, FengShill, and were appalled.
Oh, and look, Slacker! I actually saw the show! I paid, I saw, I'm qualified to give an OPINION.

It's one thing to give your opinion of a show. It's another to intentionally negatively influence ticket sales.
If you want freedom let people be free to make up their own minds sans your poison.
My...poison?
But, by the converse, it's ok for you to shill in favor?
my personal opinion is that you'd get more fulfillment giving the money to Al, the toothless guy on the subway, who will no doubt enjoy the bottle of vodka he could get for that ticket.
What I want, dear Slacker, is the freedom to post my own opinion and let you have yours. And to have you stay out of mine.
Feng: HArsh, bu tI agree.
slacker: What I meant was I'm probably not going to be able to go. I'd like to see Lennon eventually anyway.

Are you kidding me, get over yourself. Just because you have a masters degree doesnt mean you know crap, so shut it let people form their opinions and oh ya did i mention get over yourself? No? K.
