I have to admit I am a sucker for huge sound! I love a great big orchestra. However, I like the fact that Doyles productions let you really get to know Sondheims lyrics. I cant wait!!

It's a scaled-down sound, by defintion, but by no measure thin or weak. It really does sound beautiful, and totally modern.

I can't believe it starts in a little over a weeeeeeek.

I saw it in Ohio and loved it. Raul was stunning. I've also heard that a recent runthrough still holds the magic.

Can't wait! I loved the original and loved this version.

Bobby plays cymbals during Side by Side by Side, and piano during Being Alive; that's it. It's obviously done that way for a reason, though. ETA -- Tom beat me.

Raul is... he's perfect. One of the critics said it was the best performance of his career, and it may well be. He gives Bobby a really great deadpan sense of humor, and he's overall witty, sarcastic, and sexy as all hell -- but I think my favorite thing about him, especially in this, is that he's not really afraid to sort of "go there" and give a deeply emotional performance, and one that's entirely cathartic. It's a stunningly brilliant, revelatory performance for which I cannot find enough compliments. Absolutely worth getting on a plane for.

No, not at all. Yeah, marriage has its discontents, but the show speaks a lot to how difficult it is to be alone, and how much it hurts.
