Mmmm. I'm surprised the producers haven't thought of putting out a discount code when it is selling well. It makes so much more sense to put one out and make less money, even though people are willing to pay full price.

It's interesting with discount codes, as you never know how a show is going to do. Before "Jersey Boys" opened, there was a discount code for it.

The first 2 weeks of previews, the show was at TKTS, and it wasn't selling out. Then the reviews and word of mouth hit..............and, we all know what happened after that.

Actually nealb1 -- that's exactly what it does mean. Why put something on sale when people are paying your asking price??? That's just not good business.

AI hasn't put one out yet, either: because they are happy with the way sales at full price are going.



AND thank you for proving the point: when it is NOT selling well, you can find discount codes and find tix on TKTS/TDF. When it IS selling well.....those things DON'T happen. It has little to do with whether it WILL be a hit. When something becomes a hit, the discounts DISAPPEAR, which they can do at any time.

Nothing mysterious or funny about it.
