I defend my post, because really, I was asking about the possibility of ASU closing, NOT comparing it to the other musicals. I was asking, not because I think it is like Lennon or GV, but because I had not read the grosses, nor had I really heard much about the musical since it's opening. This concerned me, because sometimes thing get really quiet before a show closes and I don't want the show to close. I've not seen it yet, but I'm going to, and I fear it will close before I get the chance. Are people not allowed to ask questions on this board? Had I said "All Shook Up IS Closing!!!" That might be cause for a rumor, but if anyone actually read my post, they would know that I am simply concerned about that possibilty. I apologize if I alarmed anyone, and there was some misinterpretation of my post, but I wanted to get the opinions of others on this board of what they feel is the future of this musical, since nobody else seems to be talking about it. Sites aren't saying, we think it will be around, or we forsee it closing, or the sales of the cast album will really tell the tale...NOTHING! And I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I am seeing it in September and the mixed reviews in the beginning and the lack of discussion now, were concerning me, and making me wonder if it would be around in September.
Guess I should not have said squat about GV or Lennon, because everyone took it the wrong way. It just seemed as if start to finish, GV had a lot of talk (even if some was bad), and Lennon has had a steady flow of talk). In fact, most musicals that have opened or are in talks right now have had more talk than ASU, which concerned me. I hear about DRS, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweet Charity...nothing about ASU, and I'm really wanting to see it. I needed reassurance.
Sorry if I ruffled feathers, I am not a rumor starter, and it wasn't my intention, because I abhor rumors. I just wanted to get some feedback.

Ok heres the deal.. It's a great show that people love are loving for having such a good time when they see it. They are selling well and they are no where near closing.. and your topic is a little miss leading if you didn't mean to start a rumor.
And no one id talking about it because it is exciting nicely.
futher more.. go see it you'll have a good time.

Wayman Wong of Playbill.com is right. Your post could be misinterpreted and possibly harm All Shook Up, even though you didn't intend it that way.

Posted: 4/23/05 at 10:14amEslgr8, thank you for the tip. I appreciate the advice, it was very useful obviously. As you can see, I'm a little new to the boards, and it had slipped my mind that I could edit my messages. I had already e-mailed the admin to have the post deleted entirely. I feel quite terrible that there has been misinterpretation, so thank you for giving me a constructive way to clear this up.

Alas, I've worked in journalism long enough to know that a number of people JUST read the headlines (or topic lines). Some people don't spend the time to read the complete stories or threads, and get the proper context. Eslgrt offered a good suggestion on how to modify the topic line, and I'm glad you took advantage of it. (An even less alarmist topic might be: How's 'All Shook Up' doing at the box office?)

Mr. Wong is the epitome of professionalism on Broadway. Everyone should take his advice when creating threads on this board or any board for that matter. Words can be very hurtful.
