"it bugs me that my dad says he's taking me to see "that one play" because he doesn't want to admit he's going to see a musical. that really pisses me off."

I think I'd be glad my Dad was taking me to see "that one play". What a thing to get pissed off about...

Musicals ARE plays.

But plays are not always musicals.

So, no, it doesn't bug me, nor should it bug you.

We should let go of the OCR/Sountrack thing too. It's not important and it just makes you sound like a know it all prig.

It bugs me when people use the verb "showing" to refer to live theatre, as in "Promises Promises is showing at the Broadway".

It is PLAYING at the Broadway. Movies are SHOWING (or playing)at various multiplexes.
