Hey people. Micky was in time square gossip now talking about being up for a role in a national tour of a musical. He still hasnt disclosed the name. I supose for the same reason as before he dosen't want to jinx it. I sure hope he gets it. I'm very curious which one it is. It seems he does get the roles of the kings and fathers. I saw some clips of Pippin and I thought he did rather well in it as The king. I wish I could have scene the whole show. Never saw him on Broadway in Aida as Zosar. Micky is offal proud of his theatre work. He speeks very highly of it in interviews. Apparently Micky is still wanting to do broadway again. I wish him luck and hope he does broadway once again. Everyone should live out their dreams!

Dear Mr. Dolenz:
A suggestion- If you were to hire "cubby bernstein" to be your shill, WannaBeAFoster would fall all over himself praising you.

I'm not being paid to post anything about Micky nor am I his agent or anything of that sort. I just happen to like the man and thought people would be interested in his new theatre mentions in the news. Sence a national tour is different from a broadway run I made a new thread. I didnt want to confuse anyone. I also like posting something positive , rather than something negative and judgemental about some one I don't even know. Micky's a wonderfull entertainer and I hope he gets the role. I 'm still very curious as to what muscial it is. But out of respect for the man I 'll wait til he anounces it in his own time. BTW he is a really sweet, down to earth person, with a real heart and if any of you ever meet him you will see what I'm talking about.

We, on this board, don't care about Micky Dolenz any more or less than any other performer.
Personally, though I did see him in AIDA (no comment), to me he will forever be one of The Monkees. Nothing more; nothing less.
FYI -- EVERY SINGLE PERFORMER SINCE THE DAWN OF MAN IS REALLY SWEET, DOWN TO EARTH, HUMBLE, CARING AND WITH A REAL HEART -- even La LuPone.
He's a 63 year old grandfather -- would you expect anything else?!

Nice picture. Micky isnt a grandpa yet. As for carrying about indivual entetertainers your wrong. I have scene many topics on celebs here and theatre work they have done. Plus many on Micky before I ever posted. Mine only pertain to his theatre work. Sence this is a theatre forum. As for men in general. I don't speak of all of them as you do. Because you can't all people are different. I speak of my exeperience with Micky an none of us including Mr. Dolenz are perfect.

I'm just curious about which soon to be launched national tour he may star in?
Perhaps he's going to play Callahan in Legally Blonde?

Offal is the entrails and internal organs of a butchered animal. Really.
I could totally see him in Xanadu- in the Tony Robertws role.

For some reason I can see Micky as mad hatter or a chesire cat in a musical alice in wonderland for some reason. You know wouldnt he be quiet interesting in the muscial cats? can't you just see him dressed as a cat? Laugh! BTW no i'm not Micky or his agent.

I think it would be cool to see Micky is something again. I've been a fan for years, but didn't get a chance to see him in Aida before.
Sorry you've had to endure some negativity 'round here. Don't know what's up with that. I've only been posting to this board for a few days, but I've noticed that it has its fair share of . . .hostility.
Thanks for sharing the information!

Okay, well, horselightning isn't Micky so no need to be polite.
(But I just thought of something...what if horselightning is Davy or Peter or Mike? Maybe you guys should be on best behavior until it can be disproved.)

Hey SheepyFuzz- Your welcome. Its my pleasure to post about Micky. No i'm not one of the other monkees either . I think i'm being teased with that notion. I believe Micky did metion the musical 1776. Perhaps he was just going too see it on one of his visits to New York. Oh msn can you all see him as Benjamin Franklin flying a kite. Laugh! Now that would be cute.

1776 isn't playing in NY at the moment.
What about Grease? Maybe he's going to play Vince Fontaine or the Teen Angel.

Well you never know with Micky. It could be a role for a play thats already playing or it could be a role in a production there starting up again. I belive Pippin wasnt already playing in New York when Micky got the role of Charlemainge. That play began at Godspeed come to think of it. Micky has played Vince Fontaine on broadway before , he took the role over from Davy Jones back in 1992 I think it was sometime in the early 90s. I never liked the coat he wore . What was up with the cow hide? Davy'd was tiger skin or something... Couldnt they make them a diffrent kind of coat besides animal skin? It would be interesting if he was to play the role again .

The national touring production of Pippin never made it to broadway, I don;t recall them ever having a date in New York at all. The version Micky was cast in began life at Godspeed. So I was speeking of a pippin production on broadway at that time. I dont recall there being one going on that year. The last time it waso n broadway was 1977. Not 2005 when Mickys pippin was touring nationaly. As for Aida a friend of mine saw it and she said micky was very perfessional and she enjoyed his performance. I just wish I had gotten too see it. It would be exciting to see what musical Micky pops up in next.
