re: Assball

I saw both shows! I wasn't able to get to Mano's Joe's Pub Gig so I'm so glad I made it Sunday night. Donna's story about her Dad scared me and made me laugh at the same time. The story about the indian and how he was imagining that he had killed her and buried her under the floor board sent chills down my spine. I was crushed for her when she told the story about the fake diamond. I wish she'd release this on DVD.

I didn't know Mano and Lauren were dating. Were they dating during Sweeney's run or was it something that started up after?

Ooooh she re-told Cha Cha at the Waldorf? That story always makes me completely lose my sh!t.

The last gig was being videoed at DL's request. It's up in the air right now what exactly will be done with it though. Im pulling for a general release.... she'd make a killing on it.

re: Assball

So what were all the stories she told this time? I've gotten reports of..

Cha Cha at the Waldorf (and did she sing Old Man in addition to telling the Cha Cha at the Waldorf story?)
The David Story
Stalking Brian d'Arcy James
Assball

What else, people?

re: Assball

Uh oh is right. Whatever, I'm not getting involved. =P

I totally called that number. Hilarious. I wish I had been able to go, but I think there's a fairly good chance she'll do the show again.

re: Assball

Someone should leave a message and see what happens. re: Assball

I think in general, there's just a wariness of the public eye. I certainly wouldn't want my break ups and the like to be talked about by a great many people who I don't know, bu hey, I'm not an actor. =P

re: Assball

That's true. But, you know that notion that says "well, the people who are 'celebrities' to us are really nobodies in the grand scheme," right? I think that can just as easily be flipped on its head. To people on this board, an actor that the person next door may have never heard of is a huge celebrity. An autograph from him or her is a big, huge deal, or something. And I think some form of that idea cuts both ways; fans are fans, gossip is gossip, and everything is about scale and perspective. So either way, whether it be people on a message board or like, national tabloids, someone talking could be daunting.

re: Assball

Poor DL, she finally gets an appreciation thread and Mano hijacks it. re: Assball

As for the phone number thing, on her myspace blog she is encouraging people to leave messages with the hopes that they can use them somehow, plus she just enjoys hearing how hilarious they have been.

re: Assball

Yeah, the number she left is her voicemail number. I love what she changed the outgoing message to. I cracked up when I heard it.

re: Assball

you beat me to it chicolini. as much as i love mano and lauren, let's stick to how great donna lynne is! re: Assball

Other stories that she told were something like "The worst audition i'll never forget and the best audition i can't remember"
the wizard of oz story.
the story where she had all the sex toys at the airport
and i remember the last one she told, her encore, after she almost hurt herself, the story that touched me more the second time than it did the first. Her broadway debut. I almost cried it was so touching.

Bumping because it looks like there's definitely a Finishing the Hat DVD in the works. DLC has a 2 minute teaser video on myspace and so far so good.

Happy news for those outside NYC!
