Donna Murphy Come Back!

Where is she! I finally move to the city and I don't get to see her LIVE onstage! I saw her tonight on Law and Order and I realized how much I missed her. Any word on what her next project will be?

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

I think the poor woman is going under extensive therapy to get Passion out of her head!
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

If she comes back to Broadway do you think they'll do rush for the show? What time should I line up? And will there be a show curtain?

More importantly who's her understudy as that's most likely who I'll see...

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

As far as i know the last thing she did was Pamela's First Musical in May 2008 which i thought she thoroughly enjoyed.

What do you think the marquee is going to look like? I hope it's not going to be boring. Marquees are so bland these days.

I LOVED her performance in "Wonderful Town". (yes, I saw it many times and she was performing each time) :)

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

Good point Yero. I also wonder what the set will look like. I hope it's not just a bare stage. I hate that.

I also hope that Alice Ripley isn't in the show. She can't sing. And I hope it's not some older musical. I hate those.

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

In all seriousness, I believe that she's stated that she would prefer to be involved in a new musical as opposed to a revival which is why she supposedly turned down "Anything Goes". I adore her no matter what she does

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

I guess she's got the talent and the name to be turning things down, although I thought she was fantastic in "Passion" even though most of the show was a bore.

And Bobby, Yero, I think those are legit questions and concerns.

You disappoint me, Rent Boy.

I thought you were making an announcement. I was all ready to rush out to buy tickets. Now left disappointed all for the lack of a question mark. That thread title seemed definite.

re: Donna Murphy Come Back!

What? The title didn't suggest anything. It didn't say "Donna Murphy's Come Back" so I don't see the problem. I'm just simply stating my love for her.
